Miriam Schapiro-- New York, New York
Miriam (Mimi) Schapiro is one of the foremost pioneers in the feminist art movement in the United States. Schapiro’s work is included in numerous collections in the United States, Germany, Israel and Australia. I became Ms. Schapiro studio manager after a workshop she led at Fullerton College in 1992. I worked in her New York studio specifically on three small books she was developing that went to print that same year. I was also responsible for the daily operations of Ms. Schapiro’s studio and 2-3 of her employees.
